Greetings Everyone at Christ the King,

During the next few months while Pastor Peter is on sabbatical, I’ll be stepping in to do some of his work, enjoy your company, provide pastoral care, and worship with you. We will get to know each other during Lent and Easter, those most reflective and hopeful seasons of the church year. I look forward to it.

Christ the King is not a brand-new church to me. During the more than two decades that I taught New Testament at Luther Seminary, I had the pleasure of teaching at CtK several times. After retiring from Luther in 2014, I have been drawn back to my call to congregational ministry and been able to serve a wide variety of interims. For two years I was an Associate Minister for Pastoral Care at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, part of a large and well-organized staff of lay and clergy. What a wonderful experience it was! I then did interims at two of our Lutheran churches, Lutheran Church of Peace in Maplewood and Atonement Lutheran right up the road in New Brighton. Each congregation was different from the one before and each has taught me a great deal about how God’s love is embodied among and by us.

Most recently, I served a bridge interim, a very short interim, at Grace Lutheran in Apple Valley. It has been a joy to be with this healthy congregation as they say farewell to two beloved pastors in a year and joyfully prepare to welcome two new ones. 

My husband and I have lived in Roseville ever since I started teaching at Luther Seminary. John is a pastor and psychologist who has recently retired from directing the counseling center at Mt. Olivet in Minneapolis. We have two sons, both married, right here in the Twin Cities. We also have a wonderful 13-month-old granddaughter who lives four blocks away from us and is the light of our lives.

We’ll get to know lots more about each other as the weeks go on. I hope you’ll introduce yourselves when you see me at CtK. I am eager to get to know you.
