We are almost one year into our SHINE campaign and, WOW, we achieved more than I could have dreamed! I will admit that I was skeptical about our goal of raising $1.2M (with a $1.5M stretch goal) in pledges in just a few short months, but like usual, through faith in God and our ability as a congregation to let the Holy Spirit lead, we have raised $1.1M and are on our way to $1.5M!

 

Outside of monetary giving, everyone from young to old has contributed to the vision and works of SHINE that will fuel our church’s mission today, tomorrow, and for the years to come. Some of our young members gathered for a retreat to dream about the needs for the youth position, and just a few short months later, those dreams have become a reality with the hiring of Anne van Bruggen. In September, our entire congregation gathered for worship outdoors and helped put the finishing touches on the rain garden by planting side by side – what a site to see!

 

As we look to the near future, we are creating a vision for the Trinity Room that will promote fellowship, inclusiveness, and education – all things our congregation values. Giving to the SHINE campaign is like throwing a pebble in a lake; a tiny pebble makes a huge ripple. Each small gift makes an exponential impact on our local and global communities through the power of our amazing church family. Thank you to each of you for living our church’s mission through words & actions!
