This week of the Lenten season we reflect on Joyful Generosity, our core value that reminds us of the abundant gifts God has given us and the opportunity we have to spread God’s love by sharing those gifts with others. It is energizing to reflect on the many ways that members of Christ the King share their time, talents and resources. Grounded in the Ripples of Faith Lenten theme, we witness how the generosity and unique gifts of many enable CtK to continue to grow and strengthen as a diverse and enriched faith community. We lean into the trust and knowledge that God provides what we need and replenishes our lives so we can give freely to others.

Recently I had the privilege of chatting with Marlys Melius about Joyful Generosity in the context of the ministry campaign. What does it mean to give of ourselves joyfully? God’s invitation for us to practice generosity is not about obligation; it’s about joyfully allowing His generosity to overflow and extend beyond the walls of our homes and church to support the ministries of CtK in the community and the larger world. With the generous support of the CtK community, the SHINE campaign will enable our congregation to venture courageously as a beacon of hope through care, connection, and belonging – for everyone. You can listen in on our conversation below.

We look forward to engaging as a faith community in the ministry campaign over the coming weeks, where we will highlight the projects that will be at the forefront of the campaign and will provide opportunities for ongoing reflection and community building. Look for details soon to join an art collaboration opportunity on Saturday, April 26 and stay tuned for a daily devotional that will guide our prayerful planning throughout the ministry campaign.
