Here are a few things to think about before you begin:
- You’ll need your Bible or an online Bible. We suggest you read the Bible passage before the reflection and the prayer. Two online resources we'd recommend are biblegateway.com and oremus.org. Simply cut and paste the scripture passage into their search tab.
- Use these devotions individually, in families, or in groups. We think that these reflections work well for personal prayer, at family meals, even for committee devotions!
- In addition to prayer, consider the other practices of Lent: fasting and acts of charity. This devotional booklet will help you pray through Lent. How might you also practice fasting—Intentionally reducing screen time? Avoiding snacks or junk food? Not buying new clothes for 40 days? And how might you practice acts of charity—Donating to a food shelf? Being kind to someone you don’t know that well? Visiting someone in a nursing home or hospital?
