Heather Nelson
Director of Music
Heather Nelson is a Twin Cities native and graduate of Luther College in Decorah, IA. She serves as the Director of Music leading ensembles such as the Sanctuary Choir, Glory Sound, Christ's Kingsmen, and additional seasonal ensembles; aids in the directing the annual Youth Musical; and co-leads weekly worship. She is also the Curator of the Christ the King Music and Arts Series.
Outside of Christ the King Heather also works for Graphite Publishing as a Project Manager, and as an Administrator for Norwegian composer Kim André Arnesen. She is very active in the choral community and has sung with MPLS (imPulse), The PopUp Choir, The Together in Hope Project Choir, The Bach Roots Festival, Magnum Chorum, VocalEssence, the Minnesota Renaissance Choir, and Exultate. If Heather is not singing, you will find her traveling with her husband, crocheting, learning new Irish tunes on her tin whistle, brunching, and/or spending time with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Palestrina. Given the suspension of in-person worship and the additional risk of corporate singing for the foreseeable future, Heather Nelson has been laid off from her position of Director of Music through at least December 31, 2020. If you would like to contact staff from Christ the King, please email Nate Crary, Director of Worship at nate@lifeatctk.org. Thank you. |
