Reflection by Amity Lantz, Director of Youth and Family Faith Formation
In this season of hope, joy, love and peace, we can rejoice in the grace and love we have been blessed with by our Creator. In these times when there is so much to weigh us down, we have these promises of God to strengthen us continuously and lead us into hope.
There are amazing things waiting to happen to us when we open up to God and the promises made to us. Oftentimes we go through things so heavy we don’t think we have the courage or strength to make it through. When we trust in God to take our suffering to endurance, then to character, and end up in hope, we have begun the process of finding peace with God. We have opened up to the help, resources, and support working in our lives through our faith.
This is not an easy task, but when we see God in the truest form, we are exposed to the character of God. We see the promises that were given to us through the sacrifice Jesus made when he died on the cross. Seeing the character of God opens us up to seeing ourselves how God sees us. We feel the love, and forgiveness and grace within ourselves. When we see the true character of God, we can open ourselves to letting go of our own power and our own intentions and let God lead us to where we need to go.
When we open up to the hope in God through the Holy Spirit. We can breathe easy knowing whatever happens, God is present with us and in us. When we are open to God’s leadership and guidance, we can have hope knowing God is in charge. God’s grace, peace and love will live in us and through us in every way.
A prayer: Help us, O Lord, to trust you. You gave us Jesus, your only Son, to deliver the promises of grace, and hope in you. Your love has no limit. So let us open up our hearts in that place of trust & security. May your grace rush in, in our suffering. Open us, to trust more, to love more. As we are loved beyond all measure. In Jesus name. Amen.
