Sixth-ninth graders meet regularly to learn and talk about God, ask questions about what it means to be a person of faith, and discover more about our Lutheran tradition. Learning, service, and fun happen in large groups, class, and small groups. Although confirmation is not a requirement for those in the Lutheran church, it is an important faith step for youth and their families. We look forward to you joining us on this journey!
Sixth graders meet Sunday mornings during the school year from 9:30-10:15 a.m. [A new schedule will be posted here soon.] (PDF)
Seventh and eighth graders meet Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30-7:30 p.m. [A new schedule will be posted here soon.] (PDF)
Ninth graders spend their last year of confirmation meeting primarily one-on-one with a mentor of their choosing. The students are confirmed in the fall of their ninth grade year.
Other expectations of youth and their families during confirmation include:
- Regular participation in Sunday worship and in the life of our congregation
- Attending a weekend retreat
- Completing 12 worship notes
- Volunteering service for 12 hours
- Meeting regularly as a family for conversation about faith and life as a Christian.
