Why Weaving Community?

For years now, the block party has been an incredibly visual way for us to welcome people from the neighborhoods surrounding Christ the King. Emerging out of the annual theme (Woven into a tapestry of love), this year’s block party theme asks us to take that welcome one step further: to weave our neighbors into our community at CtK and to weave ourselves into the community of our neighbors.

It’s easy to get trapped in bubbles with people we know, people who are familiar to us. This year, take a chance, start a conversation, and remember that we are all threads in God’s vast and beautiful tapestry. Weave community with us on Tuesday Aug. 18.

Weave community. Be a Block Party volunteer.
This event would not be possible without the help of volunteers. From serving food to helping with inflatables, there is something for everybody. Confirmation students can also earn service hours. Contact blockpartyvolunteers@gmail.com with questions.
