This year, the congregational council decided to try a new way of organizing our annual meeting. Traditionally held at the end of January or the beginning of February, this year’s annual meeting was split in two.
The first part, held on Feb. 1, focused on the passing of the 2015 Operating Budget, along with elections for officers, council members, and the 2015 nominating committee. The second part of the meeting, focusing on CtK’s programmatic ministries, is now scheduled for Sunday, May 17, at 11:15 a.m. (following the 10:15 a.m. worship service).
On the agendaThe items held over from the February meeting, which require a vote (election of one new member to the auditing committee, for example) will be voted on at the beginning of the meeting. Each of CtK’s various ministries, committees, task forces, and working groups will then present brief updates on their work during the past program year. Time for questions, concerns, and other appreciations will follow.
Did we mention ice cream?May 17 also marks the last day of Sunday School, which we typically have celebrated as Volunteer Appreciation Sunday, complete with ice cream cones. What better way to celebrate the work of our volunteers than to honor the work they have done in the program year that’s drawing to an end, and to look ahead with excitement to the year to come.
So grab an ice cream cone and join us at 11:15 a.m. in the fireside lounge!
